Andre Galvao was crowned the winner of the inaugural Ultimate Absolute NYC in July of 2011.
Andre defeated four competitors in one day in order to be crowned the first Ultimate Absolute NYC champion. In the First Round he faced Nolan Dutcher and won with an Armbar, this also earned him an additional $1000.
In the Quarter Finals he faced Antonio Braga Neto and won by points. In the Semi Finals he faced Vinny Magalhaes and won by points. In the Finals he faced Rustam Chsiev and won by Judges Decision.
